masking

i want to have an into movie....this intro wil have a background that will be masked...the intro will also have a soundtrak....i want to be able to draw lines to kinda look like those on stereos to match the beats.....i cant seem to do this for whatever reasons i dont know...how can i have multiple movies over a mask to only show what i want the viewer to see....im sX-)rry i looked for an example but couldnt find one...
