mask image following mousecursor 1

I would like to use a mask layer image that always follows the user's mousemovements (for instance to make a 'binocular' effect) I've managed to make movieclips 'stick' to the cursor using actionscript, but movieclips and mask layers don't work together (or do they?). So what I need is a graphical image following the mouse. Since I don't know much about actionscript, could anyone explain e how to do this?
