Has anyone removed the MAS Tracing / Offline Access Server from an MM domain and reconfigured it as a Web Client / Web Subscriber Options server?

If so, what are the steps? Is this a supported change? When reimaging the server what other software (Windows, etc) is needed to ready the server to be installed with the Web Client disk? Is the hardware a match or are there other elements that need to be added to it for it to function as a web client?

I have in the past. You need to remove the mas from the vmd before anything else.

Then just uninstall the mm software and load the web client.

Also you don't need to re image the server but it may not be a bad idea. I have done lots of the Web Client that run on the S3500 servers using the standard image on the Avaya DVD.

You just don't load any of MM or should i say turn on any of the mm services.

Ken... I have heard that the image for the Windows should be what is on an Exchange MAS not the MSS MAS DVD for the reimage. Which image disk have you used?

After the reimage then you would load the Web Client CD in the drive for setup, correct?

Another question, If you order new hardware from the factory, is the Web Client software already loaded or do you have to load it from the Web Client CD to activate it?

I have never seen the Web Client software loaded on a server from the factory.

All i have ever done is use the DVD to load the server or if it is already loaded just remove the MM software using the add remove in CP and then install the Web client software.
