MAS200: Mystery Committed Items

I know of four causes for an inventory item to be committed in MAS (with Point of Sale Professional Module installed): layaways, sales orders, cash drawers that have not been updated and pending inventory transactions (transfers, etc).

However, I still see numerous inventory items committed without any of the above causes, so I am apparently missing something. Does anyone know what else causes an inventory item to be committed?

When you are doing any type of inventory transaction, prior to posting, the system will write out a value to the committed field. If the transaction is abnormally terminated it is possible for the transaction to be lost but the value in the committed field remains. To correct this you have to rebuild your inventory sorts and clear the qty committed field. However you have to make sure that no inventory transactions such as invoicing are in progress.
