MAS System Restart

It's is recommended that after so many days you have to shutdown and restart the MSS per the maintenance utility, but is there a time frame to shutdown and restart the MAS?
After around 60 days we start having errors in the log file that reflect spool errors. Should we start restarting the application server on a set interval as well?

They say no but i would restart the MAS every 30 days or so.
