Is there anyway to detect whether the MAS server received is configured as a MAS with Exchange versus a MAS for MSS store?

I have disks that say Boot OS For use with Avaya Modular Mesaging R5.2 MAS for Avaya Store Model DL360G7 (Material ID 700501750/Build 9.2. (GA)+SP8 April 2011).

My install keeps failing at step 60 and the MMREP.xml file is showing:

<Detail Value="09:18.18 2012/03/14 : [60%]: Failed to get no. of updates property, HRESULT = (0x80041011)" />
<Detail Value="09:18.18 2012/03/14 : [60%]: Has the 'Enable Modular Messaging' Active Directory extension been run?, HRESULT = (0x80041011)" />
<Detail Value="09:18.18 2012/03/14 : [60%]: AcquireServiceManager:ReleaseServiceManager>>" />
<Detail Value="09:18.18 2012/03/14 : [60%]: AcquireServiceManager:ReleaseServiceManager<<" />
<Detail Value="09:18.18 2012/03/14 : Error in [60]: HRESULT = 0x80041011" />
<Detail Value="09:18.18 2012/03/14 : Error in [60]: UserProfileProcessing FAILED" />

Any ideas?

More info...
When you reimage the drives, load the MAS Application DVD and rerun the DCT it still fails in the same spot.

One of the Event IDs is 1440 which strangely states "The directory server MSS1 must be either a Global Catalog or an Exchange 5.5 (SP3) directory server".

It is acting like it is an Exchange MAS even though the boot disks are for an Avaya Store.

Checked the packing slips to the servers and I don't see:
264184 - DL360G7 MAS
264186 - DL360G7 MSS
264187 - DL360G7 MAS MM AVSTR

but see 700501100 which indicates that these are substitution servers for the Avaya equipment, which actually makes them appear to be Customer Provided Equipment with services missing.

Has anyone run into this problem recently or in the past?

Problem resolved -- Issue was that we were installing through two dummy switches (1 - Corporate NIC & 1 - Private Nic) and using the customer IP address for DNS. We changed the DNS IP to use the MAS1 Private IP 192.168.1.250 and then the wizard ran to completion.
