Good afternoon,
The MM is R5.2 with #5 MAS servers using EXCH backend. The SP & patch level is SP 9 (9.2.484.9007).

Opening the VMSC and expanding the Message Application Servers reveals MAS servers 1, 3, 4 & 5. MAS2 is not shown. I tried to add a MAS (intending it to be MAS2) to the VMD by RH click on Message Appliction Servers and select "Add New M. A. S.". Using the browse button, I type the name and "check names" which underlines the name. Click OK and the name is populated into the Add New M.A.S. window. Clicking OK, the system pauses with an hourglass (for what seems to be an extended time) then displays the following in a pop-up:

"Failed to retrieve configuration data.

Please check that you are not trying to administer
a different version of Modular Messaging with
this version of the configuration tool.

(80010104)
RPC could not call the server or could not return the results of calling the server."

~~ I have verified that the physical server assumed to be MAS2 is truly MAS2 and has the proper IP addresses.
~~ Reviewed several MMDCT files to verify MAS2 was included and is operating with the proper services.
~~ MAS5 has been powered off some time back (due to prior issues).
~~ Logged into MAS2 and verified the file versions are identical to all other MAS servers.
~~ MAS2 is processing calls per OHV & port monitor.
~~ Logged into MAS2 yields the same results. All other MAS servers yield same results.

1. Has anyone seen, heard or experienced this scenario/issue? If so, what resolved it for you?
2. Should I be able to add a MAS into the VMD? I say yes, but looking for confirmation here.
3. Is there a different method to add a MAS into the VMD?
4. What steps should I take to get it resolved?

I'm hoping for a 4-leaf clover,

Irish1Pat

Are you just trying to add a server into the VMSC without running the install and DCT ? If you run the install it will add it in to the VMD itself.

If you are just trying to add a server in to the VMD it will not work like that.
