We have MAS90 and visual integrator, and we have another job tracking database that we built ourselves. The system we built ourselves does a lot of other things, but one part is that employees enter their time spent on each job into our System, and then weekly our accounting department prints this information and retypes it into MAS90. We're in need of automating the process, to avoid the retyping.

We have plenty of SQL and VB.Net experience, but very minor MAS90 experience, so I have a couple quick questions.

1. I'm assuming with VI, that we can take a CSV of employee time spent on jobs and import it into MAS90 payroll. Just the time spent on a job, not interested in our custom software keeping track of anything else pertaining to the employee.

2. We're hoping to keep just employee time in our system and pay rate, taxes, deductions, etc in MAS. So can we create a CSV file that only contains employee time spent on a job and import that into MAS90, and then apply the deductions.

3. At this point I feel we should get a qualified MAS90 consulting person/company involved, as we have too many question, but can anyone give a rough idea of how complicated this project seems?

Thanks,

Aaron

This is the smartest thing you have said. Get with your reseller. The import into payroll can be done but you really have to know the system. Note that the import will compute taxes and deductions and the like.

I would think an import like this would only take a few hours to build but you have to do your homework first on what you want it to do and also to educate yourself on what it will do so you understand what will happen as a result of the import.

Thanks I appreciate the advice.

I looked into it and our reseller is no longer in business. The new local MAS90 shop that we've used in the past hasn't worked out too well. I think they're more of a sales and setup shop as opposed to building something customized.

So my next question, can this type of work be done by a contractor remotely. I'm familiar with web design, vb code, etc being done remote (I’m familiar with te pitfalls that you can have with a remote development), so my question more specific to MAS90.

I.e. would someone need to be on site to check our system handles such an import or is something can be written offsite and supported off site?

Thanks,

Aaron
