We just got MAS 200 in our company. We liked it but every time we have to create a report we have to use MAS people to create it? Do you know of an efficient way to create our own reports? Like Crystal Reports, Access or anything like that? Is that too complicated? Do we have to export data in order to get it into Crystal?

Thank you

Have you been to class? MAS comes with a free copy of Crystal Reports. For version 4.10 it is Crystal 10 and a free copy of Crytal Enterprise.

MAS has a built in report wizard, Business Insights Reporter but I never use it. I build all my Crystal report from scratch using Crystal.

One note though. Crystal pulls all the data across the network and processes the data at the work station making reporting on some tables extremely slow. Which is why many people pull the data into Acces and let the power of Access filter the data and create smaller tables to report on. This speeds up the printing a lot.

The first thing you need to do is attend the data files class for MAS and learn about the tables and how they operate.

BigLouie,

Thank you. How difficult is to stablish the data connection between Crystal and Mas 200? Is there is a data tool inside Crystal that allow you to do this?

Wow you REALLY need to go to Crystal class. Crystal connects to the MAS database via the ODBC driver. With your install of MAS you also receive a technical reference and support guide, the TRSG which list the tables and the fields.
