I'm a new member, and I would like to ask a question in regards to a map that I'm working on in Gentran NT 3.1.1. This is a outbound map, and I'm creating the ST and SE record in the map I disabled the ST builder in the partner profile in the translations. So what I'm trying to accomplish is do a segment count for the SE01, I used a standard rule "USE ACCUMULATOR" , I used the primary accumulator as "0" and under " operations " FIRST Increment primary, "SECOND" Use primary. This method is not working, on the loop counts. Is there a way that I can do the count inside of the map?

Thank you
Robert

Where are you doing the "Increment/Use Accumulator? An accumulator may not be what you want in this scenario. You may have to set up a temp variable on the left side of your map and then manually increment it (eg do this in the extended rule of the first element of each input record). Then you can map and purge that variable when you are done with the transaction output.

Incrementing an accumulator does just that - and only when the associated element is encountered with non-space values. So if you are doing this for only one element in the input, then it will only be incremented that one time. "Use Accumulator" simply pulls out the current value of that accumulator and stuffs the value into the variable (element) the standard rule is associated with.

Send more info if you haven't gotten any answers yet.
