Hi guys,
By default, the bars in the Gantt Chart are drawn based on the "Start" and "Finish" values for each task. This gives us a bar length that represents the duration of the task.

By dragging from the left side of the bar to the right, you can also "scroll" the "% complete" for the task.

I´m currently developing a predominantly "Fixed Work" project, using the "Physical % Complete" field to monitor task progress.

I would like to know whether it´s possible to map the bar´s drag behavior to the "Physical % Complete" value as opposed to the "% Complete" Value.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Best regards,
-JAC

The line that you are drawing when dragging the % complete is a Progress Bar which is tied to the CompleteThrough value.

You can create a new bar style that displays from Task Start to Physical % Complete, and once the Physical % complete is large enough to show the progress bar, dragging the progress bar further to the right (or left) does tie to the Physical % complete value.

Right click in the background of the Gantt chart view, and select Bar Styles from the dialog.

Add a new bar as the last bar in the list (under the Progress bar). Set the formatting as needed (you might want to emulate the existing progress bar look -- perhaps with a different color). Set the "through" value to Physical % Complete.

You may also want to add the Physical % Complete field to the table to make it a bit more obvious about what is going on.

I hope this helps.
