We are migrating from NT4 to Server 2003, It has also been decided to change the subnet IP range,
We use WorkGroup Mail V 7.6 for POP3 mail, all Outlook clients simply have the IP address of this server as the outgoing and incoming mail server, my problem is this:
How can I push out the new IP address of the server?
Going around each client and re-entering the address would be a long job, can I use one of the options in DHCP?
or;
With a designated WINS server, can I just put the netbios name of the mail server in each Outlook 2000 client and let WINS or DNS resolve the Hostname?
We are moving up to Exchange Server as soon as S2.3K beds down, so this would be just a short term measure, I would be grateful for any suggestions
