I want to map to a shared directory on another PC. While I can do this locally on one machine, I want to put this map in the Login Script.

If I use the standard \\servername\directory format I get a the msg "The Specified Server is Unknown" Error code 8884.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

What OS is your other PC running where the drive is to be mapped to? And what OS are your workstations running?

The directory being shared is on a XP box. Other PCs that would likely need to see it are XP and 2000 OS.

You should just be able to:

#NET USE T: \\SERVER\SHARE

where T: is your drive letter, SERVER is your XP box, and SHARE is the name of the share you have created. You will only need the # if you are putting the command in a login script. -----------------------------------------------------
