I am having trouble mapping a drive to a particular server.

I can map to a folder on the server by an IP address but cannot by name.

"The mapped network drive could not be created because the following error has occured"

"The Specified network name is no longer available"

But I can ping the server by name and when I do an nslookup can resolve the server name.

I can also map drives to other servers by their name and IP.

Any suggestions?

An additional note, when I try to map a drive through command prompt ie use net use command I get

system erro 64 has occured.

hmm, slightly odd but not unknown, i'd try the following in order, and try mapping after each

do an "ipconfig /flushdns" followed by "ipconfig/registerdns" at command prompt (give it 10-15mins after before trying to map

check hosts file and if nothing then add a manual entry for that server, if it doesn't map by name then it is very freaky !
