ive posted this issue in Win 2k forum also but wasn't sure which to post in so please excuse me if this should be in the other forum

I think i have properly set up a folder to be shared on the win 2k pro machine. Set permissions etc, Machine is on the same workgroup name & all computers are discoverable as is drive im trying to share.

All machines im trying to map the drive on are Windows 7 enterprise x32. What happens is on the win 7 machines is it ask's me for a user & password when i try to map the drive that's on the win 2k pro machine.

What am i doing wrong? can someone please point me in the right direction? thanks.

On sharing machine (win2k in your case) there should be no accounts enabled with blank password.

Local accounts like login to go on computer, or accounts under users on the security tab under the folder or drive im trying to share? thanks for your reply!

Local. Win7 will not connect to remote computer if it founds there is at least one account with blank password on this remote computer.
