mapped network drive disconnecting

I'm using XP Home, and a mapped network drive to my local drive.

The drive seems to be cutting out and causes a disk or network error to my linked tables.

I know this isn't specifically an Access error but it seems like someone here would know the cause of this.

Do I have to have static IP Addresses? I'm thinkingit could be my router.
