Hello all,

Recently when we map drives and users access these drives via the VPN and sometimes on the LAN they see the mapped drive but when double clicking on it and going into the drive the users don't see the data in the drive.

any ideas as to why this might be happeneing?

The issue becomes when you have users who are mobile. This problem is related to synchronisation of offline folders.
The users will see their files if they go through the full path as only local copy exsists.
For the users who are connectiong through VPN make sure that the GP are properly being applied if you ahev created mapped drives through GP.
Run gpupdate /force on the users who are having problems.
Log off and log on and see if the sychronisation of all the files have been completed between the user machines and your File and Print servers.
