I have created a log on batch file that maps shared drives to users. This is working correctly. The share is named GM. the net use statement is G: \\server\GM /yes.

But under network drives the user sees this:

Gm on 10.x.x.x (G:) Somehow the lowercase m offends these GM engineers and they want it capitalized. Is there a way to force all caps or should I just tell the engineers to get a life!?!

I like option 2. But if needs be, you can go under my computer, right click on the mapped drive, and click rename. I don't know of a way to do this automatically so it might be a pain in the butt depending on how many machines you have to rename.

Personally, i would just tell them tough luck

That is one of the most OBSURD things I've heard in my career! I would shrug and say "sorry, that's the way it is..."

Maybe find a different company to work for. That kind of silliness just makes me wonder what kind of world we're living in.

Good Luck!
