We have about 50 Windows XP proffessional computers in
our windows NT domain (along with many others: 98, 2000, Me). When a user logs in to the domain we have a logon script that runs and maps a few drives. After about an hour or so, only on Win XP pro workstations, the drives disappear from their listings under my computer and windows explorer, causing much confusion for the user. The user is still connected to the drives, but any easy access to them disappears. Does anyone have an answer???

I gave one answer to this question late last week here: thread779-635707

In essence it is a combination of the default persistance setting on the original maps, and the autodisconnection setting of the server.

See the link above for details.
