Hello,
I am running into a big problem and have been down with citrix for over 2 days now (not good)
anyway I run MetaFrame1.8 on a windows 2000 server
16 bit dos app is the problem
The citrix server has a mapped drive that runs the app on another server ie
local citrix drives = M:\ O:mapped drives = F:\ G:I have an app that when I publish it it resides on a different server (G:\dir\appname.bat)
I can get apps local to the server to work on the clients however when I try and execute this app it looks like it is connectiong and then gives this error

System cannot find the path specified
This working directory is invalid G:\dir
Please check the working directory in the client config

I checked an the drive is mapped, I can execute this app on the local citrix box from the start -> run -> command
so the app works on the box it has something to do with citrix not seeing the drive mapping
thank you for any help
jon

Where does the app check the path? If it uses an *.ini file, you will need to copy this to the user's home dirs.

Try using the url instead of the drive letter.

Hope this helps CitrixEngineer@yahoo.co.uk

Do you have the path set in the path variable on the server, I've seen this help before when launching apps...

Thanks for the responses,
Well there is no ini file it just goes right to a batch file on a mapped drive ie: g:\dir\appname.bat

as far as setting the path variable on the server, what do you mean by that? How do you do this?
Like I said it's odd all apps work on the server just not through the client, thanks again

We had problems running Lotus Notes on our servers, each user has an h:drive mapped where their Id is picked up from....we solved this by having the path (same for all users) "defined" in the server path variable...

Logon as admin, right click "My Computer" on desktop...select properties, select Environment tab, scroll through System Variables and select "path", you should see the variable field at bottom of window change to "Path" and the "Value" field will show the current setting...you can add a value to this by scrolling to the right of the value field, add a semi-colon and enter the required value...remember to click the "set" button before you close this window, the new path value should now be available to all users........

Hope this helps.......

Hope this helps.........

OUCH..!! Cant see it being that change that's caused the fault...??? Did you make any other changes...??? Do you have an ERD for the server...??? Try a Repair from the install CD first...???

Good Luck.....
