Hi,

I was just wondering if anybody had experience of using Mapinfo and google earth. WE are thinking about to map some routes into google earth. Also is there any other alternatives to google earth,

Thanks in advance

Skyline software has a Google-Earth-like product, Skyline Globe. It's intended audience appears to be the professional GIS user, rather than the general audience of Google Earth. I have used both, and Microsoft Virtual Earth, as well, and, of the three, I see the most potential in Skyline Globe. I'm not sure about their interaction with MapInfo, but I know they are multiplatform in support--ESRI and Intergraph platforms both definitely are well supported (we are an Intergraph shop ourselves.)

The URL is:

and a plugin is required.

Remember, "GIS" is not spelled with and "E."
