I installed voicemail pro to interface with novell groupwise 6.5 the novell server uses smtp and mapi and the VMpro is configured with the smtp address but i will not send emails. in manager the uses are setup to copy voicemail messages to email adresses. this is unified messaging not integrated. does anyone have any clue what the problem could be there email servers are working ok all other emails are instant so emails servers are fine.

The smtp setting were picked up automatically and you csn browse the list of email contacts on groupwise.so the smtp server setting is also ok.

Did you go into the mapi tab of the general preferences in the VMPro client, and change it from the default of mapi to smtp?

Also, try running the VMPro server app instead of as a service temporarilly - you can watch and see what error messages come up.

What do i need to do to run the VMPro Server APP instead uninstall and install as VMproServer

Hmmm - good question. That would certainly do it, or you might be able to simply copy the server .exe into the /vm folder (where the service .exe is), stop the service, and launch the server .exe instead.

Or - easier still, there is a program called debugview2 that will give you the same diagnostic info even though it's running as a service. Your distributor should be able to provide a copy for you, or I can email it to you.

or simply go to services & chenage the logon paramatures

Select log on to local profile & tick interact with desktop
now restart the service & you have a VM Pro event window

got it to work by just leaving it to work it out it took all night and started working in the morning so i guess it had a lot of maths to do we will see if it stays working

By looking while seting things up and playing peter ;-)

Oh IPGURU ,

You stole my thunder , i believe i gave this answer on one of the ims threads

"make sure the ims gateway and voice are using a domain account and not local system. You can find these in services on the ims server."
