We are deploying a softphone to use with our Siebel Desktop application. In addition we are also using Genesys. Our softphone works through Genesys only using a G-plus adapter. When we went into production, around 2000 users acrossed multiple sites we ran into problems. While we are working to try and solve what happened a thought has occured to us. What is the limitation on the MAPD cards, I know it is a 10baseT connection, which is not very fast these days. In other words we have Genesys constantly looking into the switch for status updates using the T-server, and at the same time we have these softphone commands/events also using the same T-server and Mapd to make changes. Is it possible that this is simply too much for the Mapd to handle thus causing major problems. I read somewhere that the max simultaneous connections was around 300 at once. The deployment was across more than one site with the number of agents running between 200 and 500 per site/t-server/Mapd. Any help would be appreciated.

Depending on your system (G3R/si) there is a system limitation of around 60 messages per system per secon (si) and a couple of hundred per system per second(not sure exactly, maybe someone else can clarify) for G3R.
Connections shouldn't be an issue since there is only really one connection - TSERVER. The messages sent/received are all filtered through that, it usually boils down to system load.

Cheers,
NJ
