Another Windows gripe here.

Whenever I go to map a drive (start->right click 'my computer'->Map Network Drive...-> use different user name) it always has the wrong username in the combobox.

How can I either remove this or reset it to the username I want to use?

I'm thinking this is somehow tied to internet exploder because the name that's there now is a one of my email accounts. Thanks-

It sounds like Windows is trying to use one of your stored credentials to access the network share.

Go to Start >Run >type control userpasswords2 >click on the 'Advanced' tab >click the 'Manage' button under the 'Passwords and .NET Passports' section

Here you can remove or change the problematic stored user settings or create one for the network share so that in the future you are not prompted for credentials when you try to map it .

hi,
Have you tried to remove mapping (via explorer tool) ?
probably you have checked "reconnect at logon",
and it has in memory the first entry.

Use also

net use
net use \\srv\shr /delete
net use \\srv\shr H: password /user:name@domain
net use \\srv\shr H: pass /user:name@domain /persistent:no

command, also in a script net_use.cmd on your desktop

ciao
