I created an image map. I assigned names to each shape so that a tip should appear when it has focus. Unfortunately, the tip shows up on half of the shapes. The syntax is identical for each shape. What else can I do to make the rest of the tips appear?

Thanks.

TSEH

try using the ALT='...' instead of NAME='...'
theEclipse
eclipse_web@hotmail.com
robacarp.webjump.com
**-Trying to build a documentation of a Javascript DOM, crossbrowser, of course. E-mail me if you know of any little known events and/or methods, etc.

I am currently using ALT='..' with limited success. Any other suggestions?

ALT is right.

Do you have this problem with the same map areas each time? If so, perhaps:
* you have some minor syntax error in these.
* you've accidentally defined the map areas so they overlap. In this case the browser only recognises the most recently-defined of the mapped areas.
* they might even be too small for browser to resolve.

If the problem occurs with different areas each time, are you waiting long enough for the name to appear? I find it takes up to a second (which seems like an age).
