Hi,
Can someone give me an idea if this scenario is possible with my current setup, or if I need some extra software to enable it....

I have a head office and two branches linked by ADSL routers. I want to map a drive from a PC at each branch to one at the head office. I don't want to use VPN for this as in my experience with these routers, the VPN is very flaky and inconsistent. I was thinking about opening the relevant ports on the each router to allow DNS, NetBIOS and whatever other protocols I need for this, and then setting each remoet PC to have one of its DNS addresses the IP of the HO router. That way I could login from the branches to the domain of the HO. I was going to experiment with firewall rules to keep it secure.

Any comments?

thanks v much
Rob
