I’m new to the idea of a NAS and have a question.
I have installed a small NAS on my network. I’m able to map a network drive to it from other systems on the same subnet. The problem I am having is although I can ping the NAS from other subnets I cannot map a drive to the shares on the NAS from a different subnet.
Is there something that I can do about this maybe a different NAS, or is this the way a NAS works.

Thanks
John

Don't think it's an issue with the NAS itself. It may be relying on some type of name resolution to be working like WINS/LMHOSTS/DNS. Have you tried mapping via the IP address instead of the hostname.

Thank you for responding.
I did try to map the drive using the ip with the same results

If other machines are able to access it what's different about this particular system... Is it running a different OS, does it have the same IP config parameters as the other desktops, etc.
