Many recipients can't open email links

I have a client that has the following problem: when he sends out an email with a link in it, some users, including myself, cannot open that link. It comes across as blue and underlined, but when I click on it nothing happens.

Note that I AM able to click on links sent by many, many other senders... so I don't think it is anything wrong with MY system... other people that receive his emails say the same thing, that they are unable to click on his links.

This client is using Windows XP Pro with Office 2000. I am using Windows 2000 with Office 2003.

I've seen many posts here that discuss problems opening links, but the solutions seem to be to make an adjustment in the recipient's IE... recall that most of the emails I receive with links work just fine... JUST those coming from this one client.

Any suggestions on what he should do?

Could it be something with his Office 2000?
