Hi all,

I use BrightStor Arcserve Backup 12 with a SQL 2005 Express Database.

When I installed the software for the first time I remember I had two database files: asdbdat.dat and asdblog.dat (does anybody know why they are .dat? shouldn´t they be .mdf and .ldf?)

From some days to now I noticed that access to log in BrightStor manager was too slow, so when I checked the database size I realized that I had many dataase files, such as:
asdb0_dat.dat, asdb1_dat-dat, asdb2_dat.dat....asdb9dat.dat
asfile_dat.dat, aslog_log.dat
asmsg0_dat.dat, asmsg1_dat.dat, asmsg2_dat.dat....asmsg9_dat.dat

Every file (except aslog_dat.dat and aslog_log.dat) has a size of 3 MB (Entire database folder is 6.23 GB)

Does anybody know why these files could be created?

Changes to Brightstor?...I recently installed Patch QO95275 and fix T5A6083.

I´ve tried to clean database but I don´t know how.

I tried to initialize database but I think this only applies for VLDB datase.

I deleted entire log but database size doesn´t change.

Thanks for you help.

Sergio
