Hi all,

After update patch 6.5.0 for NT , firewall start to generate some 301 warning message (something ... time out due to inactivity). But it seems no impact on internet access. Anyone has this problem?? Any impact to system.

There is a place for this question, in the KBs at Symantec. Now that there is a new version 6.5 there are new ways it looks at traffic. This is NOT a bad message... It means, that the tcp-gsp, or what ever daemon what listening on that port released the comunication.

Sometimes, for various reasons communication just stops between two servers over one port. If the firewall did not get a message to drop the connection, after a pre determined amount of time the firewall says well, you aint using it, so I am releasing it (The firewall's arms got tired of holding the string between the two tomato cans.). The message is posted to the log, cause the firewall likes to leave a record of what it does, for you the administrator. That way you can go and see that there was dropped communication. You are right, it does not effect your performance. Just a little note for you, that the traffic stopped, and it let it go. If you were to say, patch that firewall up, there is in one of the readme a way to supress things in the log file. That means, you to can supress this message!!

301 warnings are everywhere!!!
