A friend of mine uses Tiscali isp, he's having to click on his isp network connection icon to get it to connect, then he'll get the dialup window verifying his username and password, i told him to goto i.e. connection tab in internet options and select 'never dial a connection' radio button but his dsl doesn't connect if he does this, anyone know why or how to get the comp to connect without geting the dialup verify window and not having to click to connect, rather the pc connects when it's booted up?

Not sure what equipment your friend is using here... A router or a USB modem?
The former ought to make the connection for you without any need for "dialup". The latter is required to do a "dialup" each time you start up the computer and want to connect to the Internet.
Give us details of the router or USB modem, and operating system being used. Tiscali is now supplying a Siemens wireless router free of charge to new subscribers...
