I have a old server that had the hard drive failed that was only used for remote dial-in and it was a Windows NT 4.0 server. I would like to remove it from active directory because it was also a BDC. The server no longer runs, so is there a way to delete the servers entries in AD?

You may need to use NTDSUTIL to clean it. This search result may help,

The DSA object cannot be deleted
Situation: The client has one NT4 BDC in their windows 2000 domain. ... Also use NTDSUTIL to check the domain lists and make sure it is clean. ...

The old NT 4.0 server is not running anymore, so I can't bind to it in AD. Any thoughts?

Turns out that it didn't have much information in AD but its name and container, so I used adsiedit and removed the name from the domain controller container.
