Hi there! Do you know where I can print a manual for the Micros 2700 system? I just started working at a restaurant and the guy who worked there before me must have taken it, so there are so many things I now do not know how to change. HELP!!! Any assistance you have would be great..we came up with a whole new menu which I now have to enter, and I don't know how!

If you have a whole new menu to program, obtaining a programming or users manual may not put you in a position to program the new menu. Contact your local dealer and have them program the new menu and provide you with training. You own a POS system, if you or your organization are not willing to invest a few dollars into training to educate yourself then I suggest you unplug it and go back to pen & paper.

Wow, that was a little rude. I just figured there was a manual out there somewhere to be printed so I could start to learn it, and you were so helpful to everyone else...

I pretty much agree with TobeThor. You probably should have your local dealership train you on the system and at least help you get started with the new menu if they can; the 2700 was discontinued years ago and some dealerships don't offer much support on it anymore. There's quite a bit of programming that goes on behind the scenes to make sure the reporting, remote printing, etc... is ready to go before menu items are entered. A POS system with inaccurate reports is less than useless.

There were also a bunch of 2700 versions and the programming was slightly different, so you may end up going in the wrong direction if you start using a random manual.

Sorry.... certainly I could have found softer words. Understand the frustrations involved when organizations purchase such an important tool (POS) and then treat the POS as if it carries no importance at all. As an employee, I realize you're between a rock and a hard place but no manual provides exactly what you're looking for.

POS manuals are kinda like spanish dictionaries, I can read the whole book but I still can't have a conversation in spanish when I'm done.

It is rare, very rare, to find a financially successful restaurant that knows little about their POS system. IMO it is one very simple way to judge the organization that owns the restaurant.

Were you successful getting the new menu programmed?
Did you find a manual?
