Manual playback of logs in Exchange 5.5?

I had to restore my Exchange 5.5 sp4 (win2k srv) and I missed an entire days logs. Is it possible to create a "restore in progress key" in in the registry naming the low and high log files and just restart the exchange server to play this back?

Sounds like it should work but as you understand I hate to mess with Exchange when it works!

Never done this before. How come you missed some log files? ARe you doing your backups and restore as per the MS white paper on backups and DR for Exchange 5.5?
