hey burgal, are you by chance having a problem with the PTY's not disconnecting and staying in an enabled state? The reason I ask is we use PTY's to connect to our switches through OTM on an ethernet connection and we had to ini everytime they got "hung up" and were not returning to a disabled state when not in use. After many ini's and multiple service calls to our vendor we eventually found out that there was known patches from Nortel to correct this problem.Let me know if this is similar to what is happening to you.Just taking a stab in the dark to try and help.
YES!!! Finally someone was able to help me with this. That's EXACTLY what my problem is. Locked up the PTY during a MAT Session, and need to INIT to relase it. I'll talk to our telco about getting a patch for the meridian asap.
Thank you soo much.
BTW, do you know the name/number of the patch to help the telco?
It's not a generic patch. There is a different patch used for each software release and version listed under the ISSP prompt in ld 22.If you want to post your ISSP info here I can see if one of the 3 OPT 11's I have have the same ISSP info and possibly give you a patch # for them to look up at least.in case you don't know this see below to prt ISSP info-
Duh,my bad.If you can get to the switch on the SEB modem using reflections or hyperterminal you can go in and build additional PTY ports that you can use until they lock out. That's what I did.I was told that on opt.11's you can build a total of 4 PTY ports and 8 on the big systems.By the way if you do get in don't bother trying to out the corrupted PTY ports-cause it won't work. This problem drove us nuts!It happened at all of our 6 sites.
All my switches are running rls 25, so I can't give you the exact patches but your tech should be able to get an engineer to find them.Good luck and let me know how you made out.
