Manual cross tab 1

Hi,

I want to build a manual cross tab where i have:

Columns: Project Name, Employee Name, Start Date Stage 1, Start Date Stage 2

In my opinion I would group the report by Proj Name and use max(start date stage 1), max(start date stage 2) in summary ie in group footer where details is hidden.

My question is how do i display employee name , since there are 10 employees each project. If i display all the data in details, I am not able to get the dates I want. Can anyone suggest work around for this?

YOU need to set Grp1 as Project and Group2 as employee and set your maximums at employee group level
Suppress Project Groupheader and footer.

But is there a way to hide dates displaying in all 10 rows? I just want to display a date in top row for each project. With the above set up I see date in all 10 rows.(Although these dates are similar). Similarily Project Name appears in 10 rows.

Here is how it looks.

I also tried to right click on one of the columns , format field, common tab, and checked suppress if duplicated. But this did not do anything. is there any other way of hiding duplicate values.

You can move the Project Nmae and dates into the Project group header and then set that group to underlay following sections.

Check box in section expert

They will thehjn only appear once and line up with Emp A
