Manual backups

We are trying to run manual backups using NetBackup on a Scalar 100 robot with a broken picker. All 6 drives are functional, however when a tape becomes full, the backup fails due to the broken picker arm.
The question is, is there a way to bypass this and have the backup wait for a manual tape change?

You could make the drives non-robotic, and then try loading the tapes manually.
