Manipulating the Download Dialogue window

Hi,

I am trying to set up my website so that users downloading files from the site don't know the location of the files. I have managed to hide the link, so that when they hover over the link the address doesn't show up in the bottom left of the browser, but when the file starts to download the address is then shown in the download dialogue window. Is there anyway to prevent this from happening.
