Hi
I would like to know if a particular row can be identified as in Oracle like say rownum, in Crystal reports ?
Actually I have a requirement where in I need to get the % Difference between columns in row1 and row 2 of a report
and the result should appear as row 3 in the report .Is it possible ? Can someone help me ?

Thanks
Danv

You can't refer up in a report, but you can carry a value forward in two ways.

One, if you use the previous function you can capture the value of the same field in the previous record of the report.

Otherwise you can store a value in a variable and retrieve it later for use in a formula. Ken Hamady

Hi
Thanks for your Instructions.I could follow the first method. Can you please elaborate on the second method. How do I assign a variable for a column value say x
for say record r1 ?Similarly for record r2 ?
I am looking at (r2.x-r1.x)*100/r1.x where r1.x <>0
Can you please explain

Thanks
Danv

Use of CR Variables is a bit too broad a topic to teach from scratch in a TT post. There is a FAQ on variables here and there is other info on the Crystal web site and Crystal Help. Ken Hamady, On-site/Phone Crystal Reports Training/Consulting
