I have created a slide/scroll bar. With in that object I have created a sound object that addresses a movie clip of a sound Accelerate (which is a low engine idle sound). The origin of the scroll bar is _y + 255. As the scroll bar moves vertical to say _y + 100, I want my sound to play faster to simulate the acceleration of an engine.

Can someone help me make this work?

Thanks!

not possible in flash far as i know. cant even think of a possible workaround.

director could do it though.

You might have to settle for using seperate sound files with varying engine speeds. Then call the appropriate one when you need it. But with a constant sound like an engine, this really won't sound very good.

How about if you use frozenpeas' suggestion of different sounds but fade quickly between them which would get rid of the problem of a constant sound being broken?

Have several engine sounds of varying degrees of acceleration all playing simultaneously but with only one set at an audible volume. Then, as your scrollbar is moved, it affects the volumes of each sound fading them up or down as appropriate giving a smooth transition between them.
