manipulating imported graphics

Hi all,

I am having a hard time telling what is the "real" size of a graphic after I have played around with it and its frame.
I have already checked the "Fitting" feature in the pop-up menu when right-clicking on the image itself, but unfortunately it seems to me all the options do scale down or up the image, and none bring the image back to its original and real size.
Any ideas?

For InDesign 2...

The black arrow (on the left in the toolbox) (aka the 'Selection Tool') deals with the dimensions of the frame used to hold the graphic. If you resize a frame, you will find that it's new scale is 100% by 100% because it does not retain an original dimension to reference from.

To deal with the frame content (the image), use the white arrow (on the right in the toolbox) (aka the 'Direct Selection Tool'). The actual scale of the image content will now be displayed in the 'Transform' palette.
