Manipulating exe opened by ShellExecute

Hallo. I've opened an exe with ShellExecute (it was a good moment), but I can't figure out how to send keystrokes or commands to it. The helpfile says that the shell exe's handle is the return value (like in VB), but the compiler says that the return value is void.
Does anyone know where information on the exe opened is stored, or a <i><b>really</b></i> simple faq I could refer to?

Any & all help gratefully appreciated.
