Hi All.
We had a bit of sucess over the last couple days sorting out a Static SIP endpoint to our Lync server(s) and then also getting Lync/Avaya configured in a way to just get one directional calling going (Calls from Lync to Avaya CS1k r7; we don't need it to go the other way for now).
As it stands, its working perfectly, SIP is making the connection and the codecs are all doing their thing. However, we just have one very little cosmetic thing that I'm sure is easily fixed.
Scenario: Lync to Avaya calls are generating (from the Lync side) a full E164/International number that is then see on the Avaya handsets. Understandably, as this is all internal, when a user tries to call back that number (to reach their desk phone; remember only one way calling at this point) via their personal directory, well they can't as E164 (without +) is not a valid number. It's all 4 dgt extensions
The below dump is me calling myself (Lync to Desk phone). You can see we manipulate our number with an internal prefix of 2.
From what I've learnt, there is either three ways to go about this....
A) Get Lync to send a manipulated number (so instead it sends the 4 digit extension; which we dont prefer, as Microsoft recommend against it, or
B) Using some type RLB and DGT edit in LD86, manipulate the incoming on the SIP route so that it matches a 4 digit extension. The only concern with this option is that I don't want to break our Least Cost Routing and SIP Trunk with our sister CS1k r7 and remote CS1k Branch Office. These already have manipulation in place on that route.
C) Have it so that the Avaya CS1k can read the E164 standard on the SIP route and have it then call back other the SIP (Of course wouldnt want this to go out and then back in).
To help with options B and C, here are the dumps of LD15, LD16, LD86 DGT and LD86 RLB. If anybody needs anything like say LD14, please dont hesitate to ask.
