Manipulate filter criteria in apply filter

Hi, I want to check and possibly manipulate filter criteria in apply filter to make sure that the user will get the appropriate reply. E.g. * are added before and after text string automatically, if the user has forgotten, etc. I do not know, how VBA can retrieve the filter criteria which the user types into a specific field under filter by form and that it will be changed accordingly through string code and then taken with apply filter. I appreciate any feedback on how to do this.

In the ApplyFilter event procedure you may play with the Filter property of the form.
