First off I am new to Mandrake.

I am trying to install Mandrake 9.2 onto a system with a serial ATA 40GB drive.

The system boots off the CD fine. I get to my install options screen and every chioce I have selected seems to not get passed "in second stage install"

what am I doing wrong? I thought the problem might be the ATA drive so I put in an IDE and same problem.

any help would be appreciated
Thanks

I skipped 9.2, but you may have a bad install cd. Have you tried burning it again? Check the md5 first. There might also be an option from the boot: to check media. Some of the newer distros offer that.
