Mandrake 9 vs LeadTek A250 Ultra Geforce 4 TI4600

Has anyone had a problem with the above mentioned items? I booted just fine into the initial Mandrake 9 installation screen then when I try a GUI install the screen goes black and nothing. I am able to use the VGA16 mode(I think that was it) to install. Once installed and logged in to Mandrake, though, the generic Geforce 4 drivers work fine. Just wondering if anyone had an idea or link to explain this.
