I have mandrake 7 installed on a celeron 366 w/32 Mb of ram. The network card that is installed in my machine is a d-link dfe-530tx, I am currently using the via-rhine module to run it. The hub is a dlink 940 (I think) four port hub that can be switched from 10 to 100 manually. I know the hub works at 100 because I tested the card that is in the machine in another windows box and had the hub set at 100 and both machines were transfering very fast(actually around 3000k/s as measured by an ftp client). When I try the same feat with the network card in linux, samba doesn't work, I can't ftp or telnet into the linux box. I can ping from and to the linux box (both name and ip address).
I am stumped, I am not sure of what I can do. I heard that samba can be changed to work on a 100 mb network, if this is true then how is it done. I suspect that it may be the driver that is not configured for 100Mb networks, but I don't know how to check or change this either. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
