New to Mandrake & Oracle.

Trying to setup a home environment and have installed Mandrake 7.2. I am am looking for a version of Oracle that would be compatible.

I do have a copy of Personal Oracle for WinNT, and was wondering if Oracle produced something like this for Mandrake / Unix etc environment?

Any help or pointer in the right direction is much appreciated.

If this does not appear to be a viable solution, please let me know any other way to learn by a hands on approach that may be viable.

Thanks

Hi,

I don't believe there is any 'easy' or 'personal' version for Linux. See prior post -> thread54-181178

You might be interested in a book from the Oracle Press - "Oracle 8i for Linux Starter Kit". That's quite good except that the CD version (8.1.6) is a bit problematic and you really need 8.1.7 or the new 9i version. See --> .
