Hello. I access the Internet through a Linksys router (and cablemodem). When using any messenger (such as aMSN) in Linux, I can receive but I CAN'T SEND files.

I think it has to be with the ports (6891 - 6900) and Linksys but don't really know what to do.

Any -detailed- help will be really appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

I'm assuming that you had this working before a linsys router was installed? If so, then defenitely the problem is with the linksys router. Make sure you have the latest firmware and check linksys site to see if any known incompatibilities.

By default, linksys should allow all outbound traffic, and deny all inbound traffic that isn't an already an established connection.

Thanks,

Jon

Please try to forward the ports(listed below)behind the Linksys router.
IN TCP 6891 - 6900
IN TCP 1863
IN UDP 1863
IN UDP 5190
IN UDP 6901
IN TCP 6901
--Hope this would help you.
