managing the callpilot 1

I seem to keep having issues with edge (in IE mode) accessing callpilot and its apps - seems to be a every 3-4 month recurring theme (windows updates? changes to tls/ssl stuff?)

what are normal people using to access the callpilot for a browser and what stable settings are used
and how do i stop this from being a recurring issue?

i have a week of work planned, and some of it involves callpilot/ music manager work
i'm stalled a bit and just wasted 4 hours trying to figure out a resolution

Use Firefox or, I now use Waterfox for this purpose.

Go to about:config
In it's search bar search TLS
Look for security.tls.version.enable-deprecated - change it from False to True
Restart browser and test.

There is a workaround if you know how to access the BCM via SSH with nnsupport and the POTD.

After logging in as root, you need to edit the file /opt/conf/httpd.conf

Edit the following section near the top of the file with a text editor (vim or nano). I commented out the redirect to SSL with a #.

################################################################
#Include conf/retailsuite.ssl.conf

Once the edited file is saved, you need to restart the http server with service httpd restart

Then you are able to access the BCM web pages with any browser.

As I am your vendor, I suggest you keep with the Waterfox.
There are reasons why I did not post the other method.

I'm sure it's more like it's quite easy to muck things up at the command line level and brick the BCM.
